Her death was a shock to all friends and neighbors because she had maintained excellent health during her life. Grandma Leachman was laid away at the Douglas Cemetery on Friday, June 5, 1936 with a great number of friends and relatives attending the last rite. Grandma Leachman leaves seven children to mourn her passing, three sons: A. B. Leachman of Vienna, Oscar Leachman of Vienna, and Otis Leachman of Ruston; four daughters: Mrs. J. L. Harper of Oklahoma, Mrs. Belle Franklin of Vienna, Mrs. Franklin Gullant of Choudrant, and Mrs. O. B. Brown of Ruston. There are also a score of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pallbearers were W. L. Brown, Sr, O. B. Brown, Herbert Hardin, William Franklin, Bernard Franklin and Spencer Revels.
