The Ruston Daily Leader, Monday, August 30, 1999 Valerie Hollis Lott Memorial services for Valerie Hollis Lott, 91, of Ruston will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 31,1999 in the First Baptist Church Chapel in Ruston. Officiating will be Rev. George Haile of Baton Rouge. A private graveside service will be at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. At Mrs. Lott's request, cremation will precede visitation and service. Mrs. Lott died Sunday, August 29,1999 in Ruston after a brief illness. Mrs. Lott was a member of First Baptist Church in Ruston for 65 years,a member of Women's Missionary Union and the Ruston Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, S. D. Lott, Sr. Survivors include one sister, Mary Eleanor Hollis of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one daughter, Virginia L. Thomas of Ft. Worth, Texas; one son, Charles R. Lott of Hendersonville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Steven B. Thomas of Ft Worth, Texas, Deborah T. Beyea of Denton, Texas, Denise Thomas of Ft. Worth, Texas, R. Craig Lott of Abingdon, Va., Eleanor L. Swafford of Wilmington, Del. and David C. Lott of Baltimore, Md., a cousin, Quentin W. Hargrove of Shreveport; and eleven great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Ruston or CBF Global Missions, P. 0. Box 450309, Atlanta, Ga. 31145. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m.
