All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Ruston Daily Leader, Monday, December 6, 1999 Dorothy Mauldin Dorothy Mauldin of Crossroads Community, born September 8,1917, died December 5, 1999 at the Baptist Retirement Center in Arcadia. She was a member of St. Rest Baptist Church. Married to Bill Mauldin on December 20, 1940, they had four children. She was preceded in death by her husband, sons, Jim and Terry, and great- grandson, Malcolm Fernandez. Mrs. Mauldin earned her nursing degree from Hendrick Hospital School of Nursing in Abilene, Texas, in 1930. She worked at Hendrick Hospital, St. Anne Hospital and West Texas Medical Center. She was office nurse for Dr. Lee Williamson and was nurse at Abilene State School. She ended her nursing career as Wiley School nurse. Mrs. Mauldin is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Jana and Joe Steger of Lewisville, Texas, and Dianne and Bob Jefcoat of Ruston; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons Cass Jefcoat, Mitch Jefcoat, Jim Bob Mauldin, Cody Mauldin, John Ronan, Glenn Wells, Steve Wallace, and family friend David French. Services will be held at Tye Baptist Church, Tye, Texas, December 7,1999, at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Tye Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Mrs. Mauldin's name to Salem United Methodist Church, Dubach, Louisiana.
