She had been in failing health from some time but became critically ill only a few days ago The funeral will be held from the residence this afternoon at 4 o’clock, with the Rev. W. J. Bolin of the First Baptist church conducting the services. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. May, who was 73 years of age, was the eldest of twelve children of the late Robert L. Russ at one time owner of the site of the city is named. She was married many years ago to Winnfield Scott May, leader in the early development of this section, Mr. May died several years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Eudora May Barret of Shreveport and Miss Eleanor May of Ruston; four brothers: Charles Russ of Ruston, R. L. Russ of Tallulah, J. L. Russ of Monroe, G. P. Russ of Port Arthur, Texas; five sisters, Mrs Dora R. Wright and Mrs. Jessie Rudy of Shreveport; Mrs. Nettie Jackson of Doyline, Mrs. J. A. Jimerson and Mrs. Mattie Covington of Ruston. Thirty nieces and nephews and 15 great nieces and nephews also survive. Honorary Pallbearers named are: Dr. J. J. Bennett, Dr. John Thurmon, H. L. McKnight, Lee Thurmon, John Graham, Sanders Baskin, Dr. W. S. Harrell, and J. H Mays. Active pallbearers will be: Guss Thompson, Ashby Moffet, T. A. Green, Robert Brooks, C. C. Thurmon, L.
