The Ruston Daily Leader Newspaper Ruston, LA Tuesday, May 17, 1938 "MITCHELL RITES HELD AT WALNUT CREEK MONDAY' "Mrs. Susan Mitchell Succumbs Sunday At Age of 77" Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Mitchell, 77, were conducted from the Walnut Creek Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 3:30, with the Rev. W. T. Strain, pastor of Simsboro Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by Rev. Burgess. Interment was in adjoining cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Parlors, Ruston. Mrs. Mitchell succumbed Sunday morning at 10 o'clock after an illness of several weeks, with her advanced age as the chief contributing factor in her passing. She had resided in Lincoln Parish for many years, after having moved here with her family from Selma, Alabama, where she was born on November 18, 1860. Surviving are four sons, R. O. Mitchell, Bossier City; A. C. and Levi Mitchell, Simsboro; and Emmett Mitchell, Calhoun; and three daughters, Mrs. J. E. Humphrey, Castor; Mrs. J. H.
