CHOUDRANT, LA - Graveside services for Raymond Edgar Murphey, age
76, of Choudrant, LA, will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 3, 2000 with
Rev.  Larry Emory officiating.  Interment will be in Douglas
Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.

Mr. Murphey died January 1, 2000 in Ruston, LA following a brief
illness.

Mr. Murphey retired from the city of Ruston.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years: Nellie Leachman Murphey of
Choudrant; four daughters: Patsy O'Neal and Jim Buchanan of
Choudrant, Jane Brown and husband Prentice of Choudrant, Susie
Peterson and husband Clay of Ruston and Frances Murphey of Jackson,
MS; son: Billy Murphey and wife Anita of Choudrant; twelve
grandchildren: Dwayne "Diddle" Andrews, Troy Andrews, Kim Williams,
Angie O'Neal, Adina Murphey, Justin Murphey, Sheri Smith, Wendi
Turner, Reife Brown, Kristen Brown, Jamie Morganthall, and Charlie
Morganthall; seven great grandchildren; and Bandit.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Visitation will be from 5 PM until 7 PM Sunday, January 2, 2000 at
the funeral home.
