All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Ruston Daily Leader, Wednesday, September 15, 1999 Tyrus Tristan Pendergrass Services for Tyrus Tristan Pendergrass, 72, of Dubach, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 1999, in the Dubach United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jon Lord, assisted by Rev. Doug McGuire, Dr. Merlin Merrill and Rev. Jerry Means. Interment will be in the Hamilton Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Pendergrass died September 14, 1999, in Willis-Knighton. Mr. Pendergrass was born March 23,1927. He was the son of Quedulous Pendergrass and Annie Maud Carter Pendergrass. He attended Dubach High School, USL, and Louisiana Tech where he played varsity baseball. He served in the United States Navy during World War 11, worked in gasoline refining for 37 years and retired from Kerr-McGee in 1989. At the time of his death he was a compliance officer for the State of Louisiana Licensing Board for Contractors. He was a member of Dubach United Methodist Church. Tyrus was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed competition and all types of hunting and fishing. He spent many happy days in the fields and on the lakes of North Louisiana and especially on the Ouachita River. He was preceded in death by his only sister, Bettie Jo Pendergrass Colvin and her husband, Sidney, during the past year. Tyrus Pendergrass was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves a legacy of love and integrity. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Darlene Harris Pendergrass; two sons, Ty Pendergrass and wife, Patty of Minden, and Tracy Pendergrass and wife, Judy of Tomball, Texas; daughter, Ann Pendergrass Harris and husband, Wendell of Franklin, Tenn; seven grandchildren, Tristan, Jeremy, Andy, Dustin, and Savannah Pendergrass, Hope and Hannah Harris; three brothers, Tommy, Don, and Bill Pendergrass, all of Dubach; one aunt, Mrs. Eula Fuller of Shreveport. He is survived by many loved nieces, nephews, and other family members and a host of wonderful friends.
