Pesnell, 70, who died in the Ruston Hospital after a short illness. He was a retired farmer and a life-long resident of Simsboro. Services were conducted by the Rev. A. H. Johnson, pastor of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Ruston, with direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Masonic rites were held at the grave site. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maggie Pesnell, of Simsboro, one daughter, Mrs. Roy Flurry of Goldana, six sons, Saxon Pesnell, Velton Pesnell, Murrel Pesnell, and Leon Pesnell all of Simsboro, Velton Pesnell and William Pesnell of Ruston, and Laurence Pesnell of El Dorado, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. Jap Gullatt of Simsboro and Mrs. Odessa Moses of Vermont, Alabama.
