James E. Robken Services for Rev. James E. Robken,,80, of Ruston, formerly of Maumelle, Arkansas, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2000 in the First United Methodist Church of Maumelle, Arkansas, near Little Rock. Officiating will be Rev. George Williams assisted by Rev. Mary Susan Hilliard. Interment will be in Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle, Arkansas under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Rev. Robken died Saturday, March 4, 2000 in Ruston after a lengthy illness. Rev. Robken was a retired Methodist minister and was a member of the Little Rock Confer-ence of the United Methodist Church. As an ordained minister of the United Methodist Church he served as pastor of numerous Congregations including the Rondo- Holly Springs Circuit near Texarkana, Arkansas, the Dierks -Greens Chapel Circuit, the Har-mony Grove-West Side Circuit, the Dumas Memorial-Lisbon Circuit in Wyatt, Arkansas, the Norphlet -Calion Circuit, Pullman Heights in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and the Bayou Meto-Lodges Corner Circuit near Stuttgart, Arkansas. Rev. Robken served in the U. S. Air Force during WWII on eight is-lands in the Pacific Theater. After 4 ½ years of wartime service to his country he was honorably dis-charged in 1945. He married Earline McCulley in 1948. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Earline McCulley Robken of Ruston; two sons, Jim Robken and wife Sheri of Ruston and Phil Robken and wife Grace of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; seven grand-children, Jennifer Robken of Lawrence, Kansas; Phillip Robken of Bentonville, Arkansas, James "Jay" Robken, III of Lawrence, Kansas; Jared Robken of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Eric Robken of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, John Robken of Ruston and Emily Robken of Ruston. Pallbearers will be Phillip Robken, Jay Robken, Jared Robken, Eric Robken, Tom Logan and Mike Wright. Honorary pallbearer will be John Robken. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Maumelle, Arkansas, “Our House Building Fund". Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the church.
