HALE ROATH SHADOW Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA RUSTON, LA - Services for Mr. Hale Roath Shadow, age 86, of Ruston, LA, will be 10:30 AM Friday, August 20, 1999 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Wideman assisted by Rev. Jimmy Pyles, Dr. Douglas L. McGuire, Dr. Merlin W. Merrill and Rev. Rolly Walker officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Shadow died Sunday, August 15, 1999 at his residence. Mr. Shadow was born in Mesa County, CO March 28, 1913. He spent his early childhood in Minden, LA. He was owner of the Ruston Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He was prominent in the bottling industry serving on state and national levels. He served 20 years as councilman-at-large for the Ruston City Council. He was president of the Ruston Chamber of Commerce, Ruston Kiwanis Club, and the Ruston Girl Scout Council. He has served on the Greater Tech Foundation of Louisiana Tech University and on an advisory committee for Grambling State University. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, was a lay speaker, a Gideon. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the North Louisiana Ashram. He was a life member of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship International. He received the Robert E. Russ Award and the Service to Mankind Award. Mr. Shadow is survived by his wife of 63 years: Margaret Glasscock Shadow of Ruston, LA; two daughters: Anita and husband Phil Lawson of Little Switzerland, NC and Loretta and husband Jim Owens of Ruston, LA; and five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to your local church, the charity of your choice, or Trinity United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday between the hours of 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
