Officiating will be Rev. Rolly Walker assisted by Rev. Fred Wideman. Interment will be in St. Rest Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Simmering died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, in Ruston after a brief illness. Mr. Simmering was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Hale Memorial Sun-day School Class, the Ruston Noon Lion's Club, the National Asso-ciation of retired Federal Employ-ees, Masonic Lodge #317 in Hastings, Nebraska. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Helen Simmering of Ruston; one son, Rick Simmering and wife Jeanie of Pineville; grandchildren, Ben Simmering, Grant Simmering and fiancee' Mandy Rox, and the late Becky Lynn Simmering; one brother, Herschel Simmering and wife Fay of Hastings, Neb.; sister, Lois Cornelius and husband Andy of Hastings, Neb.; the late Evelyn Witt; and numerous well loved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ed Harris, Harold Craig, Byron Cato, Lundy Cavender, C. W. Colvin and F. 0. Levasseur. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hale Memorial Sunday School Class Members. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at the funeral home.
