Officiating will be Rev. Barry Joyner, assisted by Rev. Dayton Doughty. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, October 4, 2000, in Ruston, following a brief illness. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dubach and was a retired school teacher for over 30 years. She was a graduate of Northwestern State University and received her graduate degree from Louisiana Tech University. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Burns Smith. Survivors include one son, William P. Smith of Dubach; one daughter, Martha Smith Bell of Pensacola, Fla.; three grandchildren, William Layne Smith, Brandon Smith Bulliard and David Allen Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Dubach or to the charity of the donor's choice. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2000, at the funeral home.
