Thurmon, died at one o’clock this morning at the home of her son Dr. John Thurmon at 505 North Trenton Street. Mrs. Thurmon who has been making her home here with a daughter, Mrs. W. H. Cook since Dr. Thurmon’s death about five years age had been in apparently good health, and her death came as a distinct shock to even her own family. She was born in New Orleans where she lived until she came to Jackson Parish, now Lincoln, to live. She later married and lived the remainder of her live in a and around Ruston. Mrs. Thurmon was a faithful member of the Methodist church, and her life was one of devotion to her church and to her ten children who survive her. They are Mrs. W. H. Cook, Mrs. A. M. Ponder, L.H. Thurmon and Dr. John Thurmon all of Ruston; and Mrs. T. J. Ford, Search, Arkansas; Mrs. J. B. Bond and R. A. Thurmon of Longview, Texas; S. E Thurmon of Vernon, Texas and W. F. Thurmon of Monroe. Two brothers, Stewart Broadwell of Ruston and Wesley Broadwell of Gibsland, and a sister Mrs. Florence Thurmon of Dallas, Texas also survive. Funeral services will be held at the residence of Mrs. Cook on North Vienna Street at ten o’clock with the Rev. H. M. Johnson, pastor of Trinity Methodist church in charge. Interment will follow in Greenwood cemetery under the direction of B. F. McLure and company, local undertakers. Pallbearers for the funeral will be: Honorary: J. D. Holland, P. W. Baskerville, Abe Harris, E. L. Tuden, Dr. W. S. Calhoun, J. W. Cheatwood, Dr. Frank Roberts, C. E. Shallenberger. Active: Abe Cann, Homer Warren, J. H. Mays, Frank Price, A. W. Hadley, A. E.
