                    Kilpatrick Funeral Home
                           Ruston, LA

CHOUDRANT, LA - Services for Mrs. Gracie McGee Vernon,, 75, of
Choudrant will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 1993 at New
Hope Baptist Church, Choudrant, LA with Rev.  R. C. Smith
officiating.  Burial will be In Douglas Cemetery near Ruston under
the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.

Mrs. Vernon died Monday, December 20, 1993 at St. Francis Medical
Center in Monroe, LA after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Vernon was a home maker and a native and lifelong resident ot
Choudrant, LA.  She was preceded in death by her husband, J. W.
"Buck" Vernon and nephew, Rodney G. Evans.  She was a member of the
New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include her nephew: Jeuett McGee of West Monroe, LA; 2
nieces: Bonnie Goodman of Eros, LA and Sheila Dean of West Monroe,
LA and several cousins.

Pallbearers will be Darrell  Dean, Gene Jordan, Charles Griffin,
Milton Futrell, Willard Futrell and Roy Gene Hammons.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at
the church.
