All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Ruston Daily Leader, Thursday, November 25, 1999 Corrie Bennett Wesson Services for Mrs. Corrie Bennett Wesson, age 87, formerly of Ruston, will be at 10 a.m. on November 27, 1999, at Burkhalter Chapel at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston with Rev. Rolly Walker officiating, assisted by Dr. Doug McGuire. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mrs. Wesson died Monday, November 22, 1999, after an extended illness. She was born February 9, 1912, in Magnolia, Ark., where she attended Southern Arkansas University before her marriage in 1934. Mrs. Wesson had been a resident of Lincoln Parish and Ruston for almost 50 years before moving to Shreveport in 1995. While in Ruston she was a member of Sunset Garden Club and with her husband, a member of Ruston Country Club. She had been a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1948. Her beloved husband, George Dudney Wesson, her parents, and two brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Wesson is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Dawn and husband William Cooper of Chandler, Texas, and Gale Wesson Bridger of Shreveport; three grandchildren, R. Jeffery Bridger and his wife Hope of New Orleans, Michael E. Cooper of Atlantic Beach, Fla., and Brenda Cooper and her husband Ken Stewart of Irving, Texas; five great grandchildren, Sean and Trey Cooper, Beth Stewart, and Samuel and William Bridger; two sisters, Mable B. Young of Cheneyville, and Mavis B. Warren of El Dorado, Ark.; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Bennett of El Dorado, and Beth Bennett of Virginia Beach, Va. The family of Mrs. Wesson will receive friends for visitation from 4-7 p.m. Friday evening.
