Officiating will be Rev. Clarence Powell assisted by Rev. Dale Oden and Rev. Jeff Lewis. Services are under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mrs. Whitlock died Sunday, September 26, 1999 at Long Leaf Nurse Care Center in Ruston, LA after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Whitlock was a teacher of History and Fine Arts at Ruston High School for 18 years. She was the sponsor of the Pep Squad, Bearcat Belles, Cheerlead- ers, Student Council, Yearbook, and Newspaper. She was director of the Graduation procedure at the high school. For the last 5 years, she was Title I Supervisor at the Lincoln Parish School Board Office, working with students in reading and math programs. She was a graduate of Ruston High School, LA Tech University and a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was active in Sunday School, Temple Choir and other activities at Temple. She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Woodard and a brother, G. Bart Woodard. Survivors include her husband, Howard Whitlock of Ruston, LA; one daughter, Katie Whitlock of Ruston, LA; two sons, Todd and Dustin Whitlock of Ruston, LA; her mother, Susie Woodard of Ruston,LA; two brothers, Russell Woodard and wife, Cindy of Ruston, LA and Brian Woodard and wife, Stacie of Ruston, LA; two sisters, Lexie and husband Bo Crawley of Dubai U.A.E. and Libby and husband Doug Perry of Ruston, LA; a sister-in-law, Marianna Cooper and husband, Woodie of Dubach, LA; and numerous aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Cecil Barham, Curtis Barham, David Rogers, Danny Garbarino, Ronnie Suggs, Jackson Thigpen, Johnny Mitchell, Donald Colvin and Warren Post. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Howard and Jackie's Sunday School Department. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be made to Temple Baptist Church building fund or Temple Baptist Church youth fund. Family will receive friends at +he funeral home between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. today.
