All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Ruston Daily Leader, Wednesday, June 26, 1991 Mrs. Eunice Williamson Funeral services for Mrs, Eunice Coon Williamson, 99, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Kilpatrick Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Danny Wood, Rev. Burl Moreland and Rev. Rolly Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick's Funeral Home of Ruston. Mrs. Williamson died Tuesdav at Lincoln General Hospitil following a brief illness. She was born on August 4, 1891 in the Okaloosa Community of Ouachita Parish, the daughter of Henrietta Henson and Jacob Allen Coon. Mrs. Williamson was a member of the English Foreign Languate Department at Louisiana Tech from 1926 until her retirement in 1958. She was a former member of of the American Association ot University Women, a charter member of the Ruston Department Club, a former member of the Arts Club and an active member of Long Leaf Pine Charter DAR, Receiving Her NSDAR 50 year membership pen in 1982. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ruston and was the oldest member of the church until the time of her death. Mrs. Williamson was a graduate of Louisiana State University and obtained her master's degree from Tulane University. Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband Screven H. Williamson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Screven and A. W. Thompson; one brother, John Elton Coon of Monroe, and many nices and nephews. Serving as pallbearers in the service will be her nephews, Fred A. Coon, Jr., Henson S. Coon Jr, Allen H. Coon, John Culpepper, W. A. Coon Jr, George Marshall, Clyde Graves and Ned Dubal. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. today at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
