She was born July 20, 1910 in Grambling. When she was 3 years old she was given by her mother to a family in Grambling where she spent her childhood and adolescent years. In 1935 she married Mr. Charlie Woodard. Mrs. Woodard was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. For many years she was a custodian in the Louisiana Tech Music Department and was a friend to many students and faculty members. Mrs. Woodard is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charlie Woodard. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Castile Wilder of Grambling and Mrs. Willie Mae Williams of Ruston; a brother-in-law, Mr. Cleveland Woodard of Ruston; and a very close friend, Marie Riggs. Our Christian Funeral Home, located on Jones Street in Ruston, will be open for viewing Thursday, July 20, from noon until 5 p.m. A grave side service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, July 21, at Grambling Memorial Gardens, Highway 80 West, and a Memorial Service will be held at Alpine Nursing Home Chapel at 10 a.m. the same day.
