Jimerson in the Jonesboro Methodist Church Sunday afternoon August 20, at one-thirty o'clock. While the guests were being seated by the ushers, Charles Thompson and W. H. Jones, Jr., Mrs. Howard Hearne at the organ played a program of nuptial music. She rendered "Consolation" by Mendelssohn and "Serenade" by Shubert while Miss Katherine Jimerson soster of the briedgroom lighted the candles. Miss Jimerson's dress was of ice blue organdy. She wore a bandeaux of blue asters in her hair. The long slender tapers were artistically decorated with lacy rosettes centered with soft satin bows and a miniature wedding bell. Mrs. Hearne accompanied by Mrs S O Sommers who sang beautifuly "Because" by d'Hardelot, and "Always" by Irving Berlin. "Traumeral" by Shuman was softly played while Rev. A. A. McKnight, pastor of the church heard the double ring wedding vows. Traditional wedding marches were played for the processional and recessional. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Thompson of Jonesboro and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. Dave Jimerson and the late Mrs. Jimerson of Quitman. Both are graduates of Louisiana Tech. The bride's only attendant was Mrs. W. H. Jones Jr., who served as matron of honor. Mrs. Jones was becomingly attired in a soft pink organdy over taffeta with a fitted bodice and ballerina length full skirt, soft pink ribbon at the waist line, She carried a colonial bouquet made of rows of pink and blue asters and one pink aster was placed in the center, ruffled in blue maline cascades of satin ribbon streamers. The bride, entering on the arm of her father who gave her in marriage, was lovely for her wedding in a boufant ballerina length skirt of white shadow organdy over white taffeta which fell in folds. The fitted bodice of Chantilly lace featured a sweetheart neckline and little cap sleeves edged in dainty lace. The chapel length veil of French diaphanous illusion flowed from a juliet brocaded cap. Her pointed mitts were of sheer organdy and she chose slippers of white satin. For her flowers she carrried garlands of white tuberoses, clustered on the white Bible and topped with a specimen white orchid from which fell white streamers caught with maline and tuberoses. For something old she wore a broach belonging to her great, great, great grandmother and for something borrowed she carried a dainty lace handkerchief. Mr John Earl Jimerson, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Thompson chose a black sheer dress and her corsage was of white carnations and tuberoses. Mrs. Cora Vail, grandmother of the groom, was becomingly attired in a soft green crepe dress. Her corsage was of white carnations and tuberoses. Immeadiatly following the wedding a reception was held in the home of the brides parents in Jonesboro. The bride's table was laid with a lovely handmade cut work cloth centered with a crystal bowl of white carnations and white asters, interspersed with maiden hair fern and flanked on either side with crystal candle holders of slender burning tapers artistically decorated with lacy medallions and centered with satin bows of ribbon holding miniature wedding bells. The three tiered wedding confection embossed in soft pink rosebuds and topped with a miniature bried and groom was placed at one end of the table. The crystal punch bowl was on the other. Miss Effie Smart poured the punch and Mrs. W. H. Jones Jr., served the cake to the guests after it had been cut by the bride and bridegroom. Mrs. A. L. Weeks presided over the gifts and Mrs. Katherine Jimerson had charge of the bride's book while Mrs. Earnest Bishop and Mrs. J. Briehn assisted with the other courtesies of the afternoon. Throughout the reception rooms white gladioli and white carnations and ferns were used at intervals. The piano held the bride's boquet on one end and in the center was a lovely arrangement of white carnations and tuberoses and on the other end the matron of honor boquet. Later when the couple left for a short wedding trip Mrs. Jimerson was wearing a becoming figured taffeta suit with tiny covered buttons gracefully down the front of the jacket. She pinned the orchid corsage with her boquet on her shoulder and her accessories were white. The couple will make their home on North Cooper Street in Jonesboro.
