Morgan Aug. 19, 1867 - Jan. 21, 1881 This cemetery is also known as the Gates Cemetery. It is shown on the U.S. Geological Survey Map, Amite Quadrangle, 1959, as the Causey Cemetery. It is located about eight miles north of the Town of Holden and one mile north of the Macedonia Baptist Church on the west bank of Hog Branch. According to State Tract Book No. 23, Page 50, located at the State Land Office, T.J. Causey purchased the land on which the cemetery is located on December 20, 1855. The cemetery has been neglected and was recently damaged by loggers. Other graves were visible but had no markers.
