GRAY'S CREEK BAPTIST CHURCH Named for the nearby creek, this Southern Baptist Church was organized on June 22, 1947 when the charter members met in the Sunday School building at Felder's Cemetery on Pete's Highway (La. Hwy. 16) in the old Seventh Ward of Livingston Parish. The charter members included Mr. and Mrs. Guy Scivicque, Mr. and Mrs. Morris May, Mrs. Velma May, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Watts, Mr. and Mrs. James V. Scivicque, Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Eccles, Mrs. A.W. Harrelson and Mrs. Hazel May. The Rev. H.F. Rice was called as the first pastor on Sept. 5, 1947. (1) ---------- (1) Information given by Mrs. Mary H.
