PINE GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH Organized in 1889, the first church building was erected on land donated by Mrs. Mary Ratcliff. Located in Section 20, T8S-R5E, the first building was wood frame and had a seating capacity of 150. The trustees were William S. Palmer, George Wells, and Dr. Henry McNabb. The first member baptized was Mrs. Mary (called Polly) Ratcliff at the age of 89. The first pastor was Rev. John Mack. The building burned in 1892 and was not rebuilt until 1929.
