Warrell,Recorder of said Parish of Livingston, and authorized by law to exercise thepowers of Notary Public in and for the same, came and appeared Mr. ChristianGrenes, a resident thereof, who did declare that for the affection he has forMistress Levina Tucker of said parish, and because of his intended marriage withher, she being present, approving, accepting and ratifying the articles,stipulations and declarations herein contained, thus making herself a partyhereto; he, the said Grenes, does by these presents give, grant, concede,donate, transfer, and deliver unto the said Lavina Tucker with a full guaranty[sic] against all debts, troubles, claims, evictions, donations, alienations,and any incumbrances, whatsoever, the property described and estimated asfollows, to wit:First: the half of the Schooner "Rebecca Ann", trading between the riverPonchatoulas and the City of New Orleans; the other half of which is owned bySamuel Richardson; the value of said vessel is Eight hundred dollars.Second. Half of the goods, wares, and Merchandise of the credits, bills, notesand claims now in the possession of said Donor, in the Store House occupied byhim on the said River Ponchatoulas, valued at the amount of Sixteen hundreddollars $1600, a detailed estimate whereof is hereto annexed as part hereof.Thus making this donation of the value altogether of Two Thousand dollars($2000). To have and to hold said property to the said Donor, according to theterms and intent hereof, to her own proper use and behoof; and the said Donorfor himself, his heirs, executors and administrators, shall and will warrant anddefend the above described property against the claims of all personswhomsoever, reserving to himself the half of the profits thereof.And the said donor fully subrogates the said Donee to the Rights and Actions ofwarrant which he has or may have against his own vendor, or the vendors of hisvendor hereby authorising said Donee to exercise such Rights and Actions in thesame manner that he might exercise them.And it is further declared, agreed and stipulated that said property shall beenjoyed by said Donee, as well as half the profits and proceeds thereof; thatshe shall have the full administration of the same an that the estimation orvaluation thereof herein made and set forth, shall not allow said Donor toretain it or any part of it as his own, or to exercise the rights of ownershipover it.But it is also provided and agreed that in case the said Donor shall survivedthe said Donee, and she shall leave legitimate descendants, the said propertyherein above described and donated or the proceeds thereof, shall be inheritedand enjoyed by such offsprings.And, moreover, in case the said Donor shall survive the said Donee and suchdescendants, or shall survive her, if she should leave no descendants, then thesaid property or its proceeds, shall revert and return to him, the said Donor ,together with all its fruits increase or accumulation.In testimony whereof the said parties have hereunto set their hands this day,month and year first above written in the presence of Drury W. Wall & HoraceTucker lawful witnesses, who have hereunto subscribed their names and me thesaid Recorder; and the said Donor has directed me to annex hereto a detailedestimate of the articles, specified in paragraph second to wit:Dry goods valued at one thousand four hundred dollarsGroceries at five hundred dollars $400Medicine and Drugs at one hundred dollars $100Bills and Notes, accounts & the liens valued at twelve hundred dollars $1200The whole valued at Three thousand two hundred Dollars $3200Christian GrenesI do accept this Donation.Lavina TuckerD.
