Elihu T. Murray to Moses Vinyard26 November 1834Be it remembered, that on this Twenty sixth day of November in the year of our Lord, one thousand Eight hundred and thirty four,Before me, Thomas Kennedy, Parish Judge and Ex officio Notary Public, in and for the state and parish aforesaid, personally came, and appeared, Mr. Elihu T. Murry, of the state and parish aforesaid, and Mrs. Delilah Richardson, his wife, by him duly authorised and assisted in this capacity to act, who declared that for, and in the consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars cash in hand paid, the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged before the signing and delivery of the said premises, they do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, assign, set over, and deliver unto Moses Vinyard (he being here present and accepting this Sale) A certain tract or or parcel of land situate, lying, and being in the Parish of Livingston, on the East side of the River Ponchatoulas, containing five acres and a half, bounded South by R. Wade, West by the river Ponchatoula, North by R. Palmer, also East by said Palmer lands.To have and to hold, the above described tract or Parcel of land to him, the said Moses Vinyard, his heirs and assigns forever, hereby warranting and defending, unto the said purchaser, the above described premises unto him, his heirs, and assigns forever, and against them and their heirs, and against all other persons, and the said Delilah Richardson does hereby declare that she has been advised and is well acquainted with the Nature and Extent of her claims, mortgages and privileges on the property of her husband for the Restitution of all her dowry brought into marriage, whether dotal, Extra Dotal, or otherwise, and notwithstanding all, declares that she does hereby “Renounce” in favor of the purchaser, all the mortgages, privileges and claims, she now has, or may in future have, on the above described and bargained premises, and does hereby bind herself and her heirs, at all times, to ratify and confirm unto the said purchaser, the titles to the above described premises.Thus done and passed in presence of William Akers and Arnold Denker, witnesses who have signed with the parties, and me, the said Judge and Notary, this day and date above written.[Signed]E.
