Act of SaleLewis Gainey to Enoch Richardson15 November 1833Be it known and Remembered that on the fifteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty three before me Thomas Kennedy Parish Judge an Ex officio Notary Public came Lewis Gainey and declared, that for and in consideration of the sum of Thirty Dollars to him in hand paid by Enoch Richardson the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, does by these presents grant, bargain, sell, convey, assign and set over unto him the said Enoch Richardson one seventh part of a certain tract of Land situated on the East side of Natalbany River containing Six hundred and forty acres, bounded on the west by the said River Natalbany on the North by the Mill tract of Land on the South by the land of A. T. McNeills and East by vacant land being the same tract of land inherited by seven of us heirs the children of Alexander R. Gainey, deceased.To have and hold all the right, title, interest, claims, and demand which he the said Lewis Gainey has in and to the said tract of Land by virtue of Inheritance as aforesaid of the one seventh part unto him the said Enoch Richardson, his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said Enoch Richardson being satisfied that there exists no mortgage on the aforesaid premises waives the production of the certificate from the office of the Recorder of  Mortgages of this parish and Indemnifies me Notary for the non-production of said certificate.Thus done and passed in the town of Springfield in the Parish aforesaid in presence of Blas. Spiller and Albert B. C. Davidson witnesses who have signed these presents with the parties and me the said Judge and Notary this day and date first above written -- and Lewis Gainey not knowing how to write his name has made his ordinary mark.Lewis Gainey X his mark]Enoch RichardsonAttest:Blas SpillerAlbert B.
