BEAR ISLAND Comprised of parts of Sections 8, 9, 16, 17, 18, 20 and 21

in T9S-R6E, this island is almost completely surrounded by swamp land.

Since it is named Bear Island we can visualize bears using this place

as a refuge home away from the high tidal overflow of Lake Maurepas many
