Centerville Street, Livingston Parish, Louisiana File prepared by D.N. Pardue ********************************************** Copyright. Reprinted by permission. Dedicated to the memory of Reuben Cooper and Raymond Riggs. CENTERVILLE STREET, La. Hwy. 1032, runs eastward from its intersection with Old River Road or Main Street by the First Baptist Church of Denham Springs to an intersection with US Hwy. 190 near the eastern city limits. When Denham Springs was developing, the business district was located north of the Baptist Church and what is now the federal highway had not been laid out. The Centerville Road, running from the Baptist church east- ward, was the main road leading to the courthouse at Centerville as far as local residents were concerned. Centerville was the site of the courthouse from 1881 to 1942. --- James Earl Minton * * *
