I hereby sell and transfer to George Colmer of
Livingston Parish Louisiana, a certain lot of land. In the town
of Springfield, parish of Livingston, State of Louisiana--that is
to say lot No 6 (six) of square or block No 13 (thirteen)-- said
lot of land having a front of 96(ninety-six) feet on Main
street, and a part of 144(one hundred and forty-four) feet on
Stubbins Street of said town of Springfield.
This lot of land was once sold to me to the late
Augustus Devall but I am now informed that the condition
of said sale was not on the part of purchaser,
complied with and that therefore the sale was not valid
in as much as the debt which said Devall agreed to pay
and thus relieve me of, as the consideration or price for said
lot of land, was neer paid in full.
For these reasons, I now transfer the said lot
of land to said George Colmer, to whom the claims be
longed, either from primary right or from asinment to
him, and acknowledge ^acquaintance which he has given me therefor, as
a full and fully paid consideration for said lot.
Nevertheless, I do not warrant absolutely
to said Colmer the title I now give him; but only warrant
him said rights and such a title as the law may give
him, should the law ever be invoked with the view to
evict him from said lot of land.
