She was a retired bookkeeper and office manager with more than 25 years if service with Southern Scrap and Material. She was a native of Maringouin and was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church since 1961 and a former member of the Pilot Club of Baker, which is now known at the Main Street Pilot Club. Visitation was held at Baker Funeral Home in Baker on Wednesday, Dec 22, 2010, and resumed on Thursday, Dec 23, 2010 at St. Isidore Catholic Church until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1 pm with interment following in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, three sons and two daughters-in-law, four sisters, a brother, 18 grandchildren, 33 great- grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandfather. Preceding her in death was her husband, Theodore L. Allen; a sister, Rowena Leonard; a grandson, Gregory Micheal “Goo” Allen; an infant great- granddaughter; and her parents, Eva and Giles Byron Abbott.
