He was a US Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Andrews was an avid dirt track racing fan. Visitation was held at Colyell Baptist Church on Sunday Jan 24, 2010 and Monday, Jan 25, 2010 until the religious services with interment in Colyell Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, four sons and daughters-in-law, four daughters and three sons-in-law, a sister, three brothers, 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Effie Watts Andrews; a son, William David Andrews Jr.; two sisters, Minavee Andrews and Jessie Lee Watts; and three brothers, J. D. Andrews, Edward Andrews, and Ben Andrews; Renaissance Funeral Services of Gonzales provided arrangements.
