He was a native of Monterey, CA and a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Navy. During his naval career, he was awarded various service medals. After his naval career, he became an electrician for Power Company. He was an avid train fan regardless whether they were models or real. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Fleet Reserve and the Elks Lodge. A memorial service was held at Port Hudson Cemetery on Friday. Burial was in Port Hudson National Cemetery, Zachary. His wife of 53 years, two sons, seven grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren survive him. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Arneal; mother, Gladys Hamilton Arneal; brother, Tom Arneal; and grandson, Raymond Dale Arneal Jr. Memorial donations may be sent to Generations Hospice at 32948 LA Hwy. 16, Denham Springs, 70706.
