AVANTS, GASTON “JACKIE”

Gaston “Jackie” Avants, 71 of Head of Island, died Tuesday, Oct 13, 2009  at 
his residence.  He was a retired heavy equipment operator.

Visitation was held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Thursday, Oct 15, 
2009 and resumed on Friday, Oct 16, 2009 at Head of Island Baptist Church, 
with interment in Head of Island Baptist Church Cemetery.

His son, a sister, two brothers, eight grandchildren, and 17 great-
grandchildren survive him.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Susie Cathleen Martin Avants; a son Mark 
Avants; two daughters, Hazel Lindsey and Cindy Simoneaux; a brother, Arthur 
Avants; and his parents, George Lee and Matilde Aime Avants
