C. “HOCK” L. C. “Hock” Averett 74 of Colyell died Wednesday, Nov 18, 2009 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was a retired member of Carpenter’s Local 1098 and a logger. He was a native of Frost and an avid outdoorsman with a special love for fox hunting. Visitation was held at Colyell Baptist Church on Friday, Nov 20, 2009 and continued on Saturday, Nov 21, 2009 from 9 am until religious service at 11 am with interment in Colyell Baptist Cemetery. His wife, a daughter and son-in-law, a son and daughter-in-law, four sisters and a brother-in-law, three grandchildren, three sisters-in-law and two of their spouses, two brothers-in-law and their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends survive him. Preceding him in death was a daughter, Melinda Faye Averett; his parents, Clinton Averett Sr and Henrietta Martin Averett; his mother-in-law, Ida Shaffett Watts; his father-in-law, Ike Watts; and three brothers-in-law, Howard Ardoin, Persie Simpson, and Bill Wheat.
