He was a native of Holden, retired from Honeywell and had previously worked at Allied Signal. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of James Chapel United Methodist Church in Holden. Visitation was held at Geisler Funeral Home in Albany on Thursday March 12, 2009 and Friday March 14, 2009 until the religious services with interment in James Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, a son and daughter-in-law, daughter and son-in- law, four stepsons and two stepdaughters-in-law, two brothers, four sisters, three grandsons, and three granddaughters, Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie "Mary" Bennett; parents, George and Augusta Bennett; and brothers, Elmer "Rabbit" and Jerry L.
