He was a native of Goodnight, Texas, and a resident of Denham Springs. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Tuesday, July 22, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Graveside service at Port Hudson National Cemetery, Zachary, on Wednesday, July 23, at 10 a.m., conducted by President Valdean Riggs with dedication of the grave by Donald W. Abel. Survived by his children, Geraldine Chandler, Linda Maier, Margaret Cardello and David Blanton Sister-Dainie, of Opelousas; brother, Charles, of New Mexico; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Norah Beattie Blanton; parents, Charles Acie and Tommie Carter Blanton; sisters, Pearl Territo and Ruby Chandler; brother, Edwin Blanton; great-grandchildren, Donald William Bourgeois, Crystal Nicole Bess and Angel Ochoa. His grandsons will serve as his pallbearers.
