Blount died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. He was 76, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a native of Livingston Parish. Visitation was at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday until chapel service, conducted by the Rev. Michael Collins. Entombment was in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. He is survived by his wife, Anne-Marie Blount; three daughters and two sons-in- law, five sons and three daughters-in-law, sister, Christine Teague; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, a half brother, a half sister, 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, William Blount; mother, Francis Steagall; and sister, Ester Sibley. He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
