She was a native of French Settlement. She and her husband spent 36 years overseas, raising their children in Haiti and then transferred to Surinam and Africa. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and an avid tennis player. Visitation was held at St Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement on Saturday, Oct 10, 2009 from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am/ Two daughters and sons-in-law, a son, seven grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren, and a sister survive her. Preceding her in death were her husband, Henry E. Brignac, Sr.; her parents, Melissa and Louis Lyons; and four sisters, Edith Lyons, Vivian Landry, Margery Young, and Regina Hood.
