She and her husband owned and operated Jack's Grocery in French Settlement for 12 years. She also was a postal clerk and her husband was postmaster until their retirement in 1982. Visitation was at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Wednesday, with rosary services and resumed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, French Settlement, on Thursday from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.,. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum. Her daughter and son-in-law, grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who visited and comforted her during her last days survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, V.V. "Jack" Brignac. She was the youngest of 12 and the last surviving child of Andrew and Mirza Lambert Guitreau. Also preceded in death by sisters, Ida Brignac, Louise Keller, Clementine King, Mary Jane Rushing and Albertine Guitreau; brothers, A.C., Luke, Edmond, Lawrence, Foster and Oreal Guitreau; granddaughter, Stephanie Matherne.
