She was a life long resident of Denham Springs. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church, where she taught a ladies Sunday school class, served on various committees and was president of the Merry at Heart senior adult group. She especially enjoyed the flower and decorating committee. She graduated from Denham Springs High School in 1940, worked in accounting until she started a career in banking in 1948 until she retired in 1985. Visitation was held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 and resumed on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 until the funeral services conducted by the Rev Patrick Morgan with interment in Denham Springs Memorial Park. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, a grandson, two step-granddaughters, three step-grandsons, two step-granddaughters, five nieces, 11 great-nieces, four great-great-nieces, two nephews, four great-nephews, and seven great-great-nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Allen Sr., a brother, Emmett Allen Jr., and his wife Eunice; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Frank Babin and Dorothy and Bailey Ott.
