I have kept the faith, now those golden bells have rung for me and I am happy to be with my Lord and my loved ones who have gone on before me. The Rev. Ted M. Burns 71 was a man of strong faith who went to meet his Lord and Savior. He was a minister of the gospel for 50 years and was affiliated with the Voice of Zion in Malden, MO and was a loyal member of Redeeming Life Church. He evangelized for many years and worked for the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board for 33 years which he retired from in 1998. Visitation was held at Redeeming Life Church, north of Walker on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 and resumed on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 until the services conducted by the Rev Wayne Mack and Rev Roger Fowler with interment following in Evergreen Cemetery in Denham Springs. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, a daughter and son-in-law, and a son and daughter-in-law, a grandson, four brothers and sisters-in-law, a sister and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his father and mother, The Rev Robert Ray Burns and Gertrude Burns; Three brothers, Lester Ray Burns, Homer Williams Burns, and Paul Leon Burns; five nephews, Noah Collett, Donnie Burns, Billie Burns, Valmon Burns, and Jamie Arnold; and two nieces, Christy Burns McLin and Shirlene.
