He was a veteran of the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Visitation was held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Saturday, March 6, 20100 from noon until the service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Ray Smith and Rev Leon Carpenter officiating with interment in Gray’s Creek Cemetery. His three sons and a daughter-in-law, two daughters, two grandchildren, two sisters and a brother-in-law, four brothers and three sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews survive him. Preceding him in death were his parents, Edward C. and Lucille Achord Carpenter; a sister, Doris Brignac; and a brother, Carter Carpenter.
