He was an employee with the Livingston Parish School System. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Corbin and Denham Springs Masonic Lodge 297. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and loved riding his Honda Shadow on country back roads. Visitation was held at Friendship United Methodist Church in Walker on Monday, June 8, 2009 and resumed on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 until religious services with interment in Palmetto Cemetery in Walker. His wife, a daughter, a son, his mother, two sisters and brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews survive him. Preceding him in death was his father, Walter Miller Coburn.
