COTHARN, LISA SMITH

List Smith Cotharn 48 of Denham Springs died Aug 31, 2009 at Our Lady of the 
Lake Medical Center, Baton Rouge.  She was a born April 29, 1961 in Waco, TX., 
and graduated from Midway High School in Waco, receive her bachelors degree 
from Texas A&M University,  and a Master of Science from Southeastern 
Louisiana University, in Hammond.  She married her husband in 1985 and they 
settled in Denham Springs where Lisa taught in the Livingston Parish School 
System..  She was a proud educator for 26 years.  In 2002 Lisa was involved in 
an automobile accident in which she received a spinal cord injury.  She spent 
the last seven years as a tetraplegic.

The funeral was held at Jefferson Baptist Church.  Graveside services were 
held Sep 5, 2009 at Waco Memorial Park, Waco TX.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, two children, her father, a 
sister, and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Jean Zimmerman Smith; paternal 
grandparents Buck and Kate Smith; maternal grandparents, D. L. and Nona 
Zimmerman.
