He was a resident of Clinton and a native of Baton Rouge. He was retired with 24 years of service from the US Navy and 14 years of trucking with Knight Transportation. He served in the US Navy in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm. He began his career 22 years ago at recruit command center in Orlando FL and from there served with distinction in the following: NATTC NAS, Memphis TN; VFP-63; VF-211 (F-8 DET), A/C Operating Detachment, NAS Miramar, CA; VP-49, NAS Jacksonville, FL, NAS Whiting Field, FL, VA-165 NAS Whidbey Island, WA; Naval Support Activity, New Orleans; NAS Whidbey Island WA, VFA/NAM-TRAGRUDET, NAS Lemoore, CA, during this career he earned three Navy Commendation Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals, Navy Unit Commendation Awards, two Navy “E” ribbons, five Good Conduct medals, two National Defense Service medals, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two bronze stars, five Sea Service Deployment ribbons, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Expert Rifleman Medal, and Expert Pistol Shot Medal, Visitation was held at Living Word Christian Centre in Grangeville on Thursday, Oct 15 from 5 pm until 9 pm and resumed on Friday at 11 am until the service at 1 pm. Interment was in the church cemetery. His wife of 36 years, two sons and a daughter-in-law, a stepmother, a brother, a grandson, four nieces and two nephews survives him.
