JR “CHUCK” Charles E. “Chuck” Dorris Jr., 61 of Springville died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He was a graduate of Zachary High School, a past member of the LSU Marching Band, and served in the US Army as a sergeant at the rifle range in El Paso TX. He retired as senior technical representative of Simplex Time Recorder Co., with 32 years of service. He was a past Scoutmaster of Boy Scouts of America Livingston Troop 80. He was a jack-of-all-trades and a master of many; the most often quoted statement about Church was “if Chuck can’t fix it, it ain’t broke.” Visitation was held at Springville Baptist Church on Friday, April 2, 2010 and resumed on Saturday, April 3, 2010 until the funeral service at 11 a.m. conducted by the Rev. W. Steven Arledge with interment in Springville Cemetery. His wife of 36 years, a daughter and son-in-law, a son and daughter-in-law, her mother, three sisters and two grandsons survives him.
