He was a native of Tickfaw and a former resident of Hammond. He was a retired customer service supervisor with the US Postal Service and former member of the Louisiana National Guard. He was immensely proud of his Italian heritage and was an excellent cook and for many years cooked the spaghetti sauce for the St. Joseph’s Altar in Tickfaw. He brought his culinary skills to Brusly and made his “macaroni and gravy” and “Italian fig cookies” famous in West Baton Rouge Parish. Tony was an avid LSU fan. Visitation was held on Monday, May 25, 2009, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond and resumed on Tuesday May 26, 2009 until the religious ceremonies with interment in Pompeii Cemetery in Tickfaw. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son-in-law, two sons and a daughter-in-law, a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, a brother and sister-in- law, a sister and brother-in-law, six grandchildren, and his buddy boy dachshund, Charlie Brown. Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Rosalie Dorsa of Tickfaw.
