He was a native of Wall SD where he was born on Sept 8, 1915 and was a longtime resident of Walker. He was a retired US Air Force master sergeant with 23 years of service. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a longtime member and deacon of Amite Baptist Church in Denham Springs. Visitation was held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Tuesday Jan 12, 2010 until the funeral service with interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. He is survived by a nephew, two nieces, and special friends who cared for him deeply a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, two granddaughters, two great- grandsons, and a great-granddaughter. Preceding him in death was his wife, Eva Mack Dowding; a brother, Estel E. Dowding; and his parents, Charles E. and Kate Dowding.
