CLAIR, III Ernest St. Clair Easterly, III, 56 of Denham Springs died Oct 19, 2009 at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He loved books, Biblical Research, LSU baseball and football, history programs and wildlife. Mr. Easterly received a Ph.D in 1980 in geosciences/geography, with comparative law, J.D. Law in 1977, and B.A. in history in 1973 at LSU in Baton Rouge, a diploma of advanced studies in international law in 1981, Salzburg University, Austria in conjunction with McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific. He had been an attorney and counselor of Law from 1978 until present. He served as Professor of law at Southern University Law Center from 1989 until present, forensic geomorphology and historical cartography with Willis Engineering and Scientific from 1999 until present. He was an expert witness in forensic geography, fluvial geomorphology and historical cartography for state, federal and US Supreme courts from 1979 until present, and as an adjunct professor for the LSU department of geography and anthropology from 1981. He was a visiting scholar with the institutes for National Security Law, University of Virginia Law School, special assistant attorney general for the state of Louisiana in 1984, an adjunct professor of petroleum land management for LSU from 1985 until 1987, a visiting professor for Memphis State University in 1987, an administrative law judge with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality from 1988 to 1989, visiting scholar and consultant for law of the sea with the University of Virginia Law School from 1993 until 1995, state Land Office consultant with the Louisiana Mineral Board from 2003 until 2004, and an endowed professor with B.K. Agnihotri with Southern University from 2007 until his death. He was past master of East Gate Lodge 452, past and founding master of Lodge of the Nine Muses 9, past master of the Baton Rouge Scottish Rite, knight commander, Court of Honor, Scottish Rite, Downtown York Rite, Acacia Shrine, Louisiana Lodge of Research and an alumni member of the Acacia Fraternity at LSU. He was an Eagle Scout, Boy Scout of America, and a member of Live Oak United Methodist Church in Watson where he had been a Sunday School teacher from 1989 until his death. Visitation was held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Wednesday, Oct 21, 2009 with a Masonic Service and on Thursday, Oct 22, 2009 at Live Oak United Methodist Church in Watson with interment in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. His wife, two sons, his mother, a brother and sister-in-law, a neice and other extended family and friends survive him.
