LOCATION: Denham Springs, Louisiana





Linda Sousa Estelle, of Denham Springs, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at 
Baton Rouge General Medical Center after complications following a massive 
heart attack. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her loving 
family and friends. Linda was born July 1, 1946, in Akron, Ohio to the late 
Vesta Barnhart Sousa and Joseph Sousa Jr. She was a loving wife, devoted 
mother, generous grandmother, and fun aunt. She loved life, her family, and 
her friends. Linda was always the life of the party and quite often the reason 
for the party. She loved hosting family and holiday gatherings at her home. 

Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Greely Walter (G.W.) 
Estelle. 

She is survived by her two sons, Shawn and Phillip; two sisters and brothers-
in-law, JoAnn Whitehead and Leroy, Christy Bourgeois and Jimmy; six grandsons, 
Orry, Shane, Trent, Rhett, and their mother Michelle, Blake and Dylan and 
their mother Stephanie. Linda is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews: 
Kari Boyer and Mark, Lori Minsky and Louis, Brent Whitehead and Catherine, 
Chanda Dickerson and Joel, Amanda Bourgeois and Joey Norris, Kyle Bourgeois 
and Amber and a friend and cousin Betty Nielsen. 

The family would like to thank Bobby Sims, a special friend, for making the 
last months of her life very happy. Special thanks to the Baton Rouge General 
Medical Center Critical Care Unit for the wonderful care and love shown to her 
and her family. Linda will be deeply missed by all of us. 

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Thursday, 
June 26, 2014 at 10:00 am with the service following at 2:00 pm. The service 
will be conducted by Reverend James Speer. Burial will be at Evergreen 
Cemetery in Denham Springs. Pallbearers will be grandsons and brothers-in-law.
