He was a native of French Settlement and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Vincent was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, served as a Eucharistic minister at St. William's Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus Council 6753, French Settlement. Visitation was at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Monday June 8, 2009 with rosary services and resumed at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Denham Springs, on Tuesday June 9, 2009 until Mass of Christian Burial with interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. His wife of 67 years, sons and daughters-in-law, a sister, five grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who were very special to him survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernand Leon and Anna Salassi Genre; son, James Vincent Genre; sisters, Anna Mae Henderson and Juliette Ellis; and brothers, Nolan, Joseph, Agile, Leon, Milbourne and Raymond Genre.
